Weather in Boston 2024

The tradition continues. As we are now several months away, it is time to start discussing the weather for Anime Boston 2024.

Since Anime Boston 2024 is at the end of March this year, it will be in Mud Season as the ground thaws. Temps have the possibility of being around freezing but most likely than not, day temps could be as high as the 50s.

it's a shame that it was held so early this year! i really liked the weather during 2022 when it was held in may, it'd be nice to go back to that.

Anime Boston changes when it is held each year which is why I do this thread every year. Overall, there has been 5 past Anime Boston that was held in March or started in March; 2008, 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2018. Average temps during those months are roughly 40sF and it can be a little windy at times...

You also must remember that what is good for one person may not be good for someone else. Example, a cosplayer who has light clothing will enjoy weather in late April/May but a cosplayer who is in full outfit or fur suit would prefer March/April.

One of the times it was held in March, it snowed/sleeted and I got super sick from walking to my hotel in it. My hotel was the Hilton so it’s not like I was outside long but the slush seeps in and keeps you wet so alas, I was sick for a week and a half afterwards.
March is always a fickle time of year in New England and makes it super unpredictable. Expect everything and sometimes, expect everything all at once.

Current expectations show it potentially snowing a bit on Friday morning, but otherwise sun with some clouds.
27th-1st show highs from 57-44 with an average high around 52, lows from 30-43 with an average low around 37.
This may change, of course, getting nearer to con time but I think it should be a fairly good idea since we aren't too far off!

While everyone will be themselves, remove your feelings from the equation & remember, mother nature always wins. You live within a very large chemical swamp called planet Earth. Either protect yourself, or become the prey of the greater hunter.

If your gonna dress up - you now have time to plan for weather elements. No one is caught off guard "suddenly" by the weather. It's just another phone app today...

As for this year though, I will not technically begin to monitor the weather until a few weeks before the con.

Now onto a more serious note, it is looking more and more likely that there will be a storm here for AB 2024. Luckily for us, it is nothing like PAX East is going to experience. Nonetheless, there is a high chance of warm gear and umbrellas/ponchos being needed for the convention.

From what it is settling into - Looks like Rain Thur-Fri & then partly cloudly/sunny remainder - high 40/low 50's all throughout. Plan accordingly & remember - flooding is likely to occur at the Prudential Entrance from Sheraton if it's LOTS of rain.

So this will be my final weather update for Anime Boston 2024.

We have a storm coming in tomorrow night to Friday with a bulk of the storm happening on Thursday. Temps will be on the chilly side so bring something warm with you once the storm passes. Already hearing that with the current ground saturation, flooding is possible (mostly along streams and rivers so that shouldn't affect AB, although it may affect travelers, especially those coming from the Cape and Rhode Island). Mist/Drizzle/Showers may linger in the area after the storm passes. Wind are still unknown at this time but could be on the stronger side after the storm ends into the weekend. Overall, this looks to be a pretty decent early Spring AB.
