There's a few videos up on my Facebook, but no official news yet. It appears to be VERY much on fire. I'm hearing possible arson since this is the second fire today.

I turned on the news.. The Hilton Hotel is on fire, not the center. The Prudential Center is across the street, though, and they evacuated the Sheraton and closed streets.

Phew.... still sucks for people effected, but it seems to be a garage thing too. Toxic fumes and all that. Thankfully, the prudential center is not hit by this. Kinda wonder if this is going to effect those who have the weekend at the Hilton or whatever.

It's a really brutal fire, I hope they get it taken care of soon.

I was literally talking about AB and my mom points behind me to the T.V and says "You mean the building burning down?" I almost had a heart attack, after I heard no-one was hurt I started internally praying it doesn't spread from some freak wind from this odd weather or something...

Alright, lets not panic. The Prudential is NOT on fire, nor is the Back Bay Hilton. It is a building adjacent to the Back Bay Hilton that is owned by Mass. energy provider NStar. A 115,000 volt transformer caught fire and is currently being handled by BFD and NStar.

As Matt said, if this affects us, we will let you know. I already have an e-mail in to the folks that assisted us with our contracts. Once things have settled down the Back Bay area and any damage has been assessed, I'm sure we'll have answers as to whether Anime Boston weekend will be affected. Please be patient.

Basically, no surrounding buildings were affected other than having their power cut, so the Hynes and Sheraton are safe. Nstar is working to restore power to the area, and I'm sure everything will be fine in three weeks for the convention. As always, though, the AB staff will let you know if it will affect the con, so please keep calm and wait for the official word from them.
