Anime Boston

Thought this would be a fun topic! (saw one from last year or the year before or something and found it amusing) So fill in the blank!

-when you're walking around with a 8 foot tall god of death and people cheer at sight of it
-People ask said god of death for hugs, high fives and to be chopped on the head
-When you see a Justin cosplayer down on his hands and knees worshiping Shinigami
-You feel at complete ease when surrounded by strangers
-You can talk to a stranger as if you've know them for your whole life
-It's totally NOT creepy for random people to ask you for pictures
-you're considered weird if you DON'T dress up
-You're willing to write on yourself with sharpie and really don't mind that it won't wash off for days!
-You stay up from 1 am to 3:30 am Saturday morning frantically making your cosplay shoes for the next day and pray they won't fall apart before the masquarade

More later!

-You hear someone yell MARCO and automatically answer POLO
-Someone loses the game loud enough to make everyone lose the game
-Hugs from random strangers are encouraged

-When you tell your little sister she'd be crazy not to accept a hug from a random stranger.
-When gathering around a table of 18+ doujinshi is a bonding experience.

I'll think of more. XD

- When the line you're in is so long that you can't see the beginning, or sometimes even the end of it.
- When you have difficulty getting your oversized prop(s) through a revolving door, and it becomes your enemy.
- When you're on the T and you can swear at least 5 Bostonians are looking at you with enough intensity to burn a hole straight through you.
- When you start the day with a few friends, go your separate ways and then don't come across them at all for the rest of the day.
- You will KILL for a spot in the Masquerade line/tickets to the masquerade.
- When you can explain the bucket game.
- You become too good for sleep.
- You run on soda (ramune or otherwise), pocky, and pizza/panda express for 3 days straight.

When you see Jesus and Master Chief having lunch together

where you can play games of tag with random strangers

You know your at AB when you watch large cartoon boobies in large groups of people

You know you're at AB when:

- You are talking to your friend and are not totally freaked out when she shouts 'I AM NOT A FREAKY FISH GUY!"

- Asking people to touch balls with you is totally not weird.

- More people know the Caramelldansen than the Macarena.

When you can dance in the halls and no one gives you an odd glance

you know ur at anime boston when u feel like ur with ur "second family" :3

-Wearing a winter coat on a nice day is totally normal
-Everyone at the con is your best friend.
-You can be yourself and not worry about fitting in or getting picked on.
-After it's over, your always looking forward to next years con.

I agree about the "MARCO" "POLO" thing. That's definitely an AB moment.
Same goes with the lines. You don't know where they start nor where they end. And they can be for something small like a panel or so. I remember the line last year for the Masq was enormous. People were on different floor levels and it was all hectic. xD But yeah people rush for a ticket. xD

You know you're at AB when...

-SHAWS is your answer to buying affordable food after the dance or so. (Well that's what we did last year staying at the Marriott. Then we went to the lobby and ate there). I was "fasting" this year. Which really meant I couldn't eat certain stuff so I went to Shaws to find stuff I could eat. XD
-You see random old friends friend school. (Well one of my older friends graduated two years ago and I ran into him at the food court lol I also found others too)
-Artist Alley + Dealer's Room takes up most of your time. xD Then you proceed to go to the mall to find an ATM.
-You do normal shopping in COSPLAY seeing that that the mall is connected.
-Dunkin Donut's and Starbucks
-Random cosplays that cause all the attention. (The most randomest is the greatest >D)
-It's guaranteed that you will find (or they were there) someone who cosplays something you desired to take pics of.
-You'll find someone that likes the same stuff as you!
-Stick with your friends at the dance if you don't want to be bothered too much xD (It depends of course still XD)
-Walking around Boston and people are like "Whaa?"
-Non con goers at the mall asking the info desk what's going on
-It's a holiday. XD It was Easter two years ago, Memorial weekend last year, this year Easter and Easter next year as well. So that means sales
-Last year, we had like a whole lacrosse team (I think it was), Baseball fans who went for the game and the con goers. So Sunday at the hotel was a living hell trying to check out and getting an elevator to work.

You know you're at anime boston when...

You see Magikarp killing everyone before he even evolves.

When your in the elevator playing card games and an awesome black dude and a bunch of other people come rushing in yelling,"Ben&Jerrys'!!!"

---Epic

-boys are wearing robes and it's considered normal

-you see mansty

-you hang around the toilet vomiting for a while because you saw mansty

-you see at least one anon in a guy faux mask

you know you're @ AB when:
-you look forward to seeing what anime chick a guy will dress up as.

-pokemon, yu-gioh, and digi-mon are suddenly cool again.

-random pedestrians ask why everyone's dressed up and being crazy (not to be confused with a furry con)

-lunch time means "migrate" to the over crowded food court.

-your creepy friend gets 6 cute Asian girls to hang off him... at once...

-yaoi can be used to attract any girl >:D

-"sleep" means: find a corner because you're getting up in 2 hours anyway.

-everyone crowds to the main entrance of the dealers room when there are multiple doors.

-adults are buying dolls and action figures.

-you waste money you saved for a house and college on some figurines and t-shirts.

-"fish out of water" translates to "stop f**king yelling marco polo."

This would probably count more of a "You know you obsessed with Anime Boston when..." thing but whatever...

...when in the months before AB 3 out of the 6 poems you had to write for your poetry unit in english class were related to AB

-When frolicking around in a costume in a large group ISN'T considered weird.
-When you have to hunt for working water fountains
-When you see Mansty
-When asking random people if you can take pictures of them isn't creepy
-When you stay at the same place for 12 hours straight
-When your Bat is a "Walking Stick"

when you have to pay 2.75 for a drink at the vendin machine
when your freind takes pics of yoai on your camera,

when you get into the back of a line, wait five minutes, then ask the person in front of you what the line is for.

In case you are wondering, I do that a lot. Sometimes lines form for nothing at all. It's funny.

- When people start playing Marco Polo
- Someone shouts "You just Tom Selleck'ed it up"

When you get arrested and went to jail for stuffing and punching a living Pikachu into someone's mouth when he yelled "MARCOO!"

when tossing around a large plush sushi roll is a good way to make friends

Haha, I loved the MARCO POLO but what I loved even more was the whole BUT SCRATCHERS THING! XD

when:
- u see mansty once
-u see mansty twice
- u could swear mansty is stalking you and ur deadly terrified for ur life
- u think ppl are weird for not dressing up
- u laugh at the weird looks u get on the train :3
- u hear ppl yelling "MARCO" "POLO" and of course the following "SHUT UP!"
- U run after a random guy just to take a pic but forget ur camera with ur friends and so have to ask the guy to go back with u to get the camera

- Not only do you see Mansty walking around, but buff!Mansty as well
- You get excited and scarred for life at the same time when you see a Man!Tifa. (The white shirt, suspenders and shorts version. Not FF7 version)

One word: Magikarp.

- When you see people staring at you walking the streets of Boston.
- Having camera flash EVERYWHERE.
- When people scream "YAOI!" or in the lines of that.
- When you see fan-girls/boys drool.
- When you take the T and get questions on what the heck your wearing.
- When your buying food and the customers/workers stare strangely and ask questions.
- When someone breaks out in the Lucky Star or Hare Hare Yuuki dance.
- When people crowd to do the caramelldansen.

+ SOOOO much more...

- you see mansty.
- hetailia cosplayers are everywhere.
- you feel other peoples sweat on you at the dance.
- cameras constantly go off and you becareful where you walk.
- you see mansty again.
- on your way you stop for a bite and everyone ask for a pic (happened to my sis on the way to AAC)

You know you're at AB when...

-Someone starts a Pokemon sing a long.
-Mansty, end of the story.
-"MARCO" "BUTT SCRATCHA" "WHAT TIME IS IT" and "I Tom Selleck'ed it up" get shouted in crowds and everyone responds.
-You see at least two different Hetalia groups.
-You see a million Narutos.
-You become unphased by the random things you see and hear as you walk around.

I hope people outgrow that. It was seriously annoying and not funny by Sunday and I wanted to strangle people. For real.

The pokéwalker one will die, maybe not this year, but next (when everyone has totally moved to Black/White and the pokéwalkers become a relic). But sadly, I don't see 'Marco' dying out until the day that someone yells out 'Marco' and NO ONE responds.

The ONLY one of these yelling memes I've actually participated in: 'PIRATES!'
