Any idea of when Karaoke will happen this year? Will it be interfering with any other events?

The Karaoke Contest will be held on Saturday May 28th 6:00- 8:00 pm in Karaoke Room 313
Open karaoke will be running
Hynes, 3rd Floor, Room 313
Friday 9 a.m.–2 a.m.
Saturday 9 a.m.–2 a.m.
Sunday 10 a.m.–3 p.m.

The open karaoke sign-ups will be when the room is open to be added to cue.
The contest sign-up will be done in two parts half online and half in person on Friday.

Yes, but the karaoke contest is a scored event. So difficulties such as not using lyrics sheets (etc)
Will be taken into account by the judges and the audience.

Out of curiosity, with participants rolling over from 2020/2021, how likely is it that they'll be slots on the 13th when online signups open? Only asking because with my work schedule I likely won't be able to get to AB early enough on Friday to sign up for one of the six in-person slots before they're gone.

So far I have not been contacted by any of the other participants.
If they do not contact me here before the thread goes live, there will be open slots.
So still a strong possibility of getting in at this point. You could end up on the alternates
list, which does get bumped up as well when people drop.

Random question...
If you're planning to provide your own off-vocal track for the competition, what's the best way to go about doing that? I need to transpose the song I want to compete with if I end up getting one of the slots... is it like open karaoke, bring it on a phone or some other device with a 3.5mm jack or send it ahead of time as an mp3?

You can do either. With your entry, you will be able to supply a link to a download site where we can grab it or you can bring it in. Honestly doing both isn't a bad idea, just in case.

Sorry I'm so late to this, I had no idea the posts had even been done but I was registered previously as Lyssa, my old account was removed for whatever reason. Is there anyway I can still participate, or would trying to sign up Friday morning be my best bet?
