Formal Ball Dress Code (Shoes)

I and a friend plan on going to the formal ball. But we were reading the Dress Code and I am a little confused. It says No sandals and we were wondering what people thought She should wear with a Kimono. All she has for shoes that go with her Kimono right now are the sandals and tabi socks.

If someone else has some idea's of what to wear that would be great.

Hi there!

Zori sandals and tabi socks are okay for those planning to attend in formal Japanese attire. You can find an in-depth breakdown of the formal ball dress code here, but to sum up:
Those dressed in formal Japanese clothing may wear zori sandals with tabi socks for footwear. Geta sandals are difficult to dance in and thus not recommended. All other forms of sandals are not suitable for this event.
I hope that helps!
