Formal Ball kimono/yukata sandals
Hi, for kimonos and yukatas, what sort of footwear are considered formal and what aren't? Kimonos usually are worn with tabi and traditional flip-flop-like sandals.

Re: Formal Ball kimono/yukata sandals
Although the formal ball page is not yet ready for 2016, according to the dress code from last year:
So I would make sure that your sandals are in fact, traditional style zori and not actually flip-flops.Those dressed in formal Japanese clothing may wear zori sandals with tabi socks for footwear. Geta sandals are difficult to dance in and thus not recommended. All other forms of sandals are not suitable for this event.
