Awwwww Yea. Now this is what a Yugioh tournament should be like. Good prizes, none of this Whack-a-Catgirl or box of pokeys bull we've had for the last few years for top finishers.

Are we allowed to use japanese cards that have or have not been released here in the US?

Sorry, no. That causes more problems (and complaints) then it solves.
Additionally, we are attempting to get the KDE tournament software and player cards before Anime Boston so that the events listed above can be sanctioned. Japanese cards aren't legal for sanctioned events.

I believe for any sanctioned tournament in the US, you'd have to use official TCG cards, even if you possess an OCG counterpart.

If the tourney isn't sanctioned, can I use OCG cards? (feels like I'm asking the same question >.>)

It's usually up to the tournament organizers to set the rules for unsanctioned tournaments.
Any idea on the status of having COSSY (KDE tournament software) available for the weekend?

Hey gaiz. I know this may be a little off topic, but I don't play anymore. all I have left is a Jinzo and a Hino Kagu Tsuchi. If someone wants them, or wants to trade Magic cards for them, let me know. thanks.

I would like to trade them for a magic deck. Can you do that? If so, meet me at the swap room. I'll be with a big traveling stroller bag

No OCG cards. If you have a card that Isn't an OCG card, but isn't in english either (spanish for example), please bring a up-to date english translation.

We should have received the KDE cards weeks ago. I'm told they are on the way, but I don't know if they will come in in time for Anime Boston.

Depends on the deck. Also depends on what others offer me for them. Certain sites claim that Hino Kagu Tsuchi is worth like 9.00...
http://www.pokeorder.com/yuleofdahi.html
...or that Jinzo is worth liek 60.00...
http://www.pokeorder.com/yudabe1ji.html
That seems a little exaggerated to me. However, I'm not promising anything to anyone yet. I will try to be at the swap meet at least one day. Which day were you going to be there?
BTW also found Exiled force.

I'd say $30 max. Even then that's pushing it. Especially not if its from the tin.

Update on the KDE cards:
We WILL have KDE card while supplies last. You must enter a tournament in order to receive one.
We do NOT have the COSSY software, it wasn't sent to us.
Whether or not the tournaments will be sanctioned is still up in the air.

I'm not too familiar with yugioh economy, but ultras/secrets are usually within the 20-30 range. Old first edition PSV jinzo might be that high.

KDE stands for Koonami Digital Entertainment.
A KDE card is like an ID for official KDE tournaments and events. It also gives you access to an account on their website.
